FRIENDS supports children from 6 weeks to 12 years in three multi-service facilities located in Richmond neighorbhoods where the challenge to succeed is greatest.
Our preschool programs are aligned with the philosophy and objectives of the Head Start Program.
Serving low and moderate income families, FRIENDS provides what many parents could not otherwise afford:
- Spanish as a second language
- music education and the performing arts
- computer education
FRIENDS is good for Richmond. The Perry Preschool Study, released in April 2003 by the High-Scope Educational Research Foundation, found that for every dollar invested in a high-quality early childhood program, like FRIENDS, society saves $7 later in reduced special education, welfare and correctional services.
